Final meeting of the PanAfGeo Project – 24 & 25 Oct 2019 in Tanzania

Launched in December 2016, co-financed by the European Union and 12 European geological surveys to the tune of €10.3 million, "PanAfGeo" for "Pan-African Support to the EuroGeoSurveys-Organisation of African Geological Surveys (EGS-OAGS) Partnership" was a project which supported the training of geoscientific staff from African Geological Surveys through the development of an innovative training program. 




A wide range of professionals and leaders from Africa and Europe took part in the meeting which included the Advisory board, Co-leaders, Consortium, Expert chair, and Executive Committee. 

The G&A Programme was introduced to those taking part in the event by a representative of DevCo D.3, Strategic Partnerships EU-ACP and EU-African Union.

About…
This cooperation project notably developed 7 training modules: geological mapping, mineral resource potential inventory, artisanal mining, environmental mine management, natural hazards, but also geological heritage awareness, geoscience information management and promotion.
