The United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs calls for researchers to conduct hypergravity experiment

The application for the first cycle of opportunity inviting experiments under the United Nation and European Space Agency Fellowship Programme on the Large Diameter Centrifuge Hypergravity Experiment Series (HyperGES) is now open. The thoroughly completed application form from participants must be submitted to the Office by no later than Monday, 30 November 2019.

The fellowship programme is implemented by the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs and the European Space Agency (ESA) and is part of the Access to Space for All initiative of the Office. Through the cooperation, the fellowship programme is providing opportunities for scientists and researchers with a team of students from Member States of the United Nations, with particular attention to developing countries, to conduct their own hypergravity experiment series at the Large Diameter Centrifuge (LDC) facility of ESA’s European Space Research and Technology Centre (ESTEC), in Noordwijk, the Netherlands. One team in each cycle will be selected and spend one to two weeks at ESTEC to conduct on-site experiment integration and perform a hypergravity experiment series on the LDC, allowing the acquisition of a broad gravity spectrum in the range from 1 to 20 times of Earth’s gravity.

Further information on the programme, including the first announcement of opportunity, the application form, and the associated documents are available electronically using link below:
