GEO and Google Earth Engine announce a call to action for projects to monitor the pulse of our planet

In a post published last 5 December 2019 on its blog, the group on Earth Observations announced that they will grant 25 projects proposals with licenses for the sustained use of Google Earth Engine.

The idea is to tackle significant societal challenges and improve understanding of our planet, objectives also shared by the G&A Programme, with regards to Water and Land Resources, Marine and Coastal Resources, in support to the multifaceted decision making processes.

In return, GEO and Google require that the chosen projects offer the results of their work to the open science community, including code, algorithms, datasets and results.

Both are defending an open access to data to provide the necessary insights for assessing the constant changes on our planet.
