1st GMES and Africa Forum hosting agreement signed
The Government of Gabon signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the African Union Commission to host the first Forum of the first GMES and Africa Forum which will be held from 19 to 23 November 2018, in Libreville Gabon.
On behalf of the African Union Commission, Dr. Tidiane Ouattara, GMES and Africa Programme Coordinator and Space Science Expert at African Union commission and on behalf of the Government of Gabon Dr. Aboubakar Mambimba, Director General Agence Gabonaise d'Études et d'Observation Spatiale (AGEOS) signed the Memorandum of Understanding.

The African Union Delegation led by Dr. Outttara, holds preparatory discussions with , Ministry of Foreign Affaires, AGEOS senior officials and Forestry Office in Gabon regarding the 1st Forum of the GEMS and Africa. The first forum of the GMES and Africa is expected to bring together policy makers, 55 beneficiary African Countries, user community, Earth Observation science experts, development partners, academia private sectors.
The GMES and Africa Programme is an Earth Observation programme co financed by African Union Commission and the European Commission.
