The GMES & Africa holds Capacity Building Workshop in Nairobi

The GMES & Africa holds capacity building workshop on team building, and collaborative web based platform. It was held from 22 to 26 January 2019 in Nairobi, Kenya. 

The GMES and Africa Programme staff deliberated on building effective and efficient team. The team building workshop was facilitated by an experienced consultant Peter Zeil. The approach was in an environment where the GMES and Africa team exercised enhanced working together through various participatory activities. The facilitator used different activities and exercises aimed at strengthening efficient communication, team building, knowledge and information sharing.

During the Workshop participants also trained on the usage of existing web based collaborative platforms in the African Union Commission. Besides, the experiences of the Regional Centre for Mapping of Resources for Development (RCMRD)  on how RCMRD functional programmes have moved away from service technology framework (e.g. Remote Sensing, Geodesy, Cartography etc.) to problem solving applications in natural resource and environmental management. RCMRD is providing demand driven services.
