Practise on the GMES and Africa eStations with the videotutorials of JRC
The European Union Joint Research Centre (JRC) recently finalized a set of video tutorials, in English and French, to guide the Users in the exploitation of the G&A eStation application.
In addition to the processing services, the eStation offers a highly customized web client, made available to different end-users for computing ad-hoc thematic products and environmental indicators. All processing steps are easily configurable allowing the user to modify the generated environmental indicators and to implement new ones.
The eStation has been distributed to the Regional and National Centres in all sub-Saharan African countries involved in the MESA project (Monitoring of Environment and Security in Africa), and is being further developed and customized for the beneficiaries of the GMES & Africa support program.

These videos will be integrated shortly in the newly released G&A Distance Learning Platform (DLP) where it is already possible to access other training materials about the MESA Stations.
For now, only the 'Analysis' part is described. However, JRC's is committed to continue with the creation of video covering the other functionalities of the eStation and its installation/maintenance.
Training of G&A Marine and Coastal Thematicians delivered by JRC - Ispra, in October 2018 |
This is a first step in the effort to provide support and contribute to 'capacity building' in view of the current difficulties in having more traditional training sessions (A training session was planned in Nairobi at the end of April).
The approach towards the video tutorial was to create the videos, upload in a YouTube channel called "eStation 2.0 - Joint Research Center". To subscribe to this channel
There is two playlists:
