African Union: 10 fellows to drive Digital Innovation
AUC is very much engaged in breaking the African digital divide. In partnership with GIZ and AfriLabs, was held on 7th and 8th of April an induction workshop for 10 AU Digital and Innovation Fellows.
Launched in September 2021, the fellowship program has recruited its 1st cohort of 10 young Africans who will harness digital technologies and innovation to transform African societies and economies.
The young African fellows will be groomed and trained to co-create and build innovative tailor-made products and processes that improve the delivery of the AU’s mandate around Agenda 2063 and build internal capacity of host departments.
The fellows will be deployed to the African Union Commission for a period of 12 months and they are expected to contribute to national, regional and global initiatives aimed at advancing the aspirations of Agenda 2063.
