GMES and Africa: 4-6 May 2021, MarCOSouth Services Stakeholder Workshop

The development of MarCOSouth services focused on sustainable socio-economic development, empowering a wide range of users in the public and private sectors through the application of regionally-optimized satellite observations and model based forecasts in the South and East African Marine and Coastal domains



The purpose of the stakeholder workshop is to:
  • Inform relevant stakeholders about the GMES and Africa MarCOSouth project;
  • Describe the objectives of the GMES and Africa MarCOSouth project;
  • Identify and share key stakeholders, their priority business cases, key datasets, Earth Observation (EO) (remote sensors) and in-situ sensors used and data/sensor gaps;
  • Find commonalities and facilitate collaboration in an inclusive environment; and
  • Facilitate user uptake of the MarCOSouth services.
